I purchased these earrings some years ago at a street fair, where the vendor had many interesting and beautiful items made from very old trade beads. She told me these had been ancient spindle whorls.

Of course I'm not an expert on antique beads, but what's certain is that these are beautiful "denim lapis" lozenge shaped beads, on silver tone (surgical steel I think) earwires and findings. They're from my own collection, but I pretty much never wore them, as I never wear blue (yeah I'm weird).

I kept them, though, just because the stones were so pretty! But hey, I've hoarded them long enough, time for them to go to someone who'll wear them and share them with the world!

They measure about 1 3/4 inches long, and the beads have a diameter of about 14mm.

Be sure to look in my shop for more ancient and ethnic AuldBaubles!
(I also have a ton of vintage engagement rings!)
