A super vintage wood shipping crate that originally held a Remington typewriter.

This sturdy wood crate would be perfect for an end table or a stylish storage box. The graphics are bright and clean with the red and black Remington typewriter image on two sides. The logo reads, "To save time is to lengthen life." The crate originally held a Remington Standard typewriter, model 10 A -- one of the big heavy duty office machines. We further learn from the side of the crate that this was machine no. RE 84833, keyboard no. 360 and the type style was Elite. The sides are joined with finger joints. There are remnants of the paper railroad shipping labels on the sides of the crate. The crate was opened incorrectly in that the bottom is screwed on, which was the side intended to be removed when opening the crate. There are four strips of wood nailed to this side of the crate. When the graphics are displayed upright, the open box of the crate is up. Could be used as a glass top end table (perfect for displaying an antique typewriter) or as a storage box.

Measures 19 inches by 19 by 15 tall. In great condition -- clean, strong and sturdy. There is one screw poking out one of the sides where a small chunk of wood is missing.
