Kaj Franck’s time as artistic director at Arabia was an uncommonly fruitful period at the Finnish firm. Simple forms were often coupled with whimsical decoration, as with this small ceramic pitcher. The plain white ceramic body is embellished on each side with a perky and rather baroque green cat.

Measures 5 ¼ inches high, 7 inches from spout across handle. Printed marks on the underside date this piece to sometime between 1964 and 1971.

Overall condition is good, with no chips or cracks and minor crazing on the underside. There are small areas of faint discoloration at the bottom edge on one side--see detail image.
