Polwarth Wool Roving (combed top) - hand painted - 4 oz.

This roving is painted in shades of blue and violet.

Polwarth sheep are a cross between the Merino and Lincoln breeds, and are sometimes called Ideals. This wool is the South American variety, which has a slightly shorter staple length than the Australian, but still long at between 4.5 and 5 inches. At 23.5 micron, this gives you a great combination of length and softness.

This fiber was reviewed in the First Fall 2011 issue of Knitty! You can read the review in the Knittyspin Fiber Fiesta here:

* Our fibers are dyed by hand with colorfast commercial dyes for a one-of-a-kind appearance. Be aware that colors may appear differently on different computer monitors, but every effort has been made to portray them as accurately as possible. *
