Polwarth Wool / Silk Roving (combed top) - hand painted - 4 oz.

Colors in this roving include violet, silver, olive green, and brown.

Polwarth wool roving, combined with tussah silk. The silk gives this roving a lovely sheen, and adds strength & softness. An excellent blend for both spinning and felting.

This blend contains:

85% Polwarth Wool
15% Tussah Silk

Polwarth sheep are a cross between the Merino and Lincoln breeds, and are sometimes called Ideals. This wool is the South American variety, which has a slightly shorter staple length than the Australian, but still long at between 4.5 and 5 inches. At 23.5 micron, this gives you a great combination of length and softness.

Check out our other spinning & felting fiber, as well as our hand painted yarn listings at http://www.etsy.com/shop/woolgatherings.

* Our fibers are dyed by hand with colorfast commercial dyes for a one-of-a-kind appearance. Be aware that colors may appear differently on different computer monitors, but every effort has been made to portray them as accurately as possible. *
