This charming ceramic music box depicts a scene of houses, in a row, on a steep hill, with a trolley in the street in front. To "wind" the music box, you pull the trolley down the hill. As the music plays, the trolley is slowly pulled up the hill by a cord. It plays "I Left My Heart In San Francisco." The ceramic is painted in shades of brown, gold, and green. The front of the hill is designed to look like bricks with a banner across that says "San Francisco" although it's a little hard to read (in the main photo, it looks like there is a chip over the "F" although there is no chip. To me, it appears that the painted wanted to make the wording understated.). The bottom is covered with felt and a sticker that states "Westland Co." and "Made in Japan" as well as an address. The back has "Westland 1980" engraved into the ceramic. Such a fun, unusual music box!

This piece is approx 6 x 6.5 x 3 inches. There is a small chip where the behind where the cord pulls over the side.
