A lovely gold, orange, brown and cream tin that once held mint drops, little candies renowned for their digestive properties, made in Turin, Italy, by Leone... "The king of sweetness since 1857"... one of the oldest sweets companies in northern Italy... still working and famous all over the world.
A wonderfully aged collectible tin... perfect for decorating or storing your little precious things and a great addition to your vintage tin collection!
We're not certain of the date of manufacture... it is likely from the 1970s.

The front says "PASTIGLIE, MENTA, LEONE, CASA FONDATA, NEL 1857", the back shows all the other different flavours with their specific properties, while the bottom lists the ingredients.

Pastiglie Leone's Candy Originals are the Company's oldest and most distinctive confectionery product. These small delights are the result of a careful choice of essences, extracts and herbs to enhance the fragrance and scent of the various different flavours. Their pleasant pastel shades, making this product alluring to the eye as well as to the taste, are obtained exclusively from natural colouring agents.
One product of Piedmontese excellence is just Peppermint: the treasure released by its leaves is a precious essential oil, used to enrich hard candies, tablet originals, Candy Originals and a plentiful of other Leone specialities. Grown in the green Pancalieri plantations, few kilometers off from Turin, this special peppermint is unique in the whole world thanks to its extraordinarily sweet and persistent aroma and its superior taste delicacy.
