‘Seashells She Sells’ ~ ‘Conchas que vende’

A quality reproduction of an original scratchboard piece by Diane Cutter, both this print and the original are 5” x 7“ It comes with a BLACK mat for a standard 8"x10" frame.

Scratchboard art is a method of drawing using a sheet of paper or a gessoed panel which has been covered in ink, the drawing is then done by scratching and cutting with sharp implements to reveal the white surface underneath. In this print you can see the individual scratch marks so distinctive of scratchboard.

The original scratchboard piece was exhibited at the Maji Lina Gallery in Palmer, Puerto Rico in 2010 and has also been juried into the 1st Annual International Society of Scratchboard Artists exhibition, to be held in California July 2012..

Like buried treasure, these beautiful sun bleached shells are often found on the white sandy Caribbean beaches of Puerto Rico and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.
