This is a strange one! Rugogaster hydrolagi is a parasitic worm - an accordion-shaped trematode that lives inside a certain fish. I'll let my friends over at the Daily Parasite fill you in on the details - http://dailyparasite.blogspot.com/2011/03/rugogaster-hydrolagi.html

This original watercolor was made using a wet-in-wet technique. I painted the background in mottled yellow and green, then added my main character while the paper was still damp. The paint spreads out a little, giving it that authentic "under the microscope" quality.

Overall size 8 x 10 inches, including white mat and backing board. Standard size for easy framing. Signed and one-of-a-kind.
