Vintage Tie Tac - Arita Porcelain - Toshikane Japan
Made in Japan, for the 1950s tourist trade, Arita ceramic is highly collectible for it's incredible molded detail and colored accents. This mallard duck in flight is not the most common subject available. Rich colors including gold accents on the wings, tail, neckband and foot against a white stippled background make it incredibly beautiful.

The sqaure ceramic piece is set into a goldtone aluminum backed frame. There is a sharp pin attached to the back and a finial shaped locking clasp with a safety chain of tiny links and wire metal loop to secure over a button.

Just shy of 3/4" (19 mm) square. Marked on back "JAPAN" on the top with fan shape containing Japanese characters and "TOSHIKANE" at the bottom. No wear to the hand glazed surface. Some tiny scratches on the frame and the pin is slightly bent, but does not affect the mechanics of fastening it. This is a fine piece of quality ceramic jewlery for a descriminating man. Even a lovely jacket pin for a woman. A really nice find.

From my stash of vintage jewelry accumulated over the last 20 years.

I love my international customers, but shipping to USA only on this item. If you are outside the USA and willing to pay extra shipping and insurance, convo me and we'll see what we can work out.
