This was acquired from an estate of a former teacher from New England. We have a couple dresses from her estate with this same style. She became a teacher at 18 years old and this indicative in these dresses as this shows in the "junior" styling of these garments.

This lovely dress circa 1915-1916 when the hemline was at the highest ever in history at that time.

This well made garment is fashioned from yellow, white and light brown checked gingham. The fabric is medium weight Summer cotton gingham.

This features an one-side bodice which closes with hooks and white mop buttons. The asymmetrical collar and cuffs feature scalloped embroidery and are made of a white cotton fabric. The collar and cuffs are also adorned with mother of pearl button trim.
The sleeves are about elbow length and the waist has a white slim "belt detail"

The skirt is "A" line with asymmetrical cut panel to the front.

A lovely piece of history perfect for a photo shoot, theater or study.

Please note that some photos are done with flash in order to show detailing.
