I love the style of this Art Deco band...it can be dfinitively dated to July, 1930, due to the engraving with the bride and grooms' initials inside the band....it has a classic and elegant look, while being a bit unusual, too....

Crafted of solid platinum, the ring features five clean and bright diamonds....three round brilliant cut and two marquise cut stones. The round diamonds are each approximately 3 mm in diameter including their bezels and the marquise diamonds are each approximately 5 mm long, with their bezels. The stones are all completely eye-clean and look very clean under my 14x loupe. A jeweler estimated their clarity at VS2. I would judge their color to be in the G-H-I range of near-colorless. The total diamond weight is estimated to be between .25 and .30 carats.

The settings are sturdy yet feminine and all the stones look secure. I am working to remove years of grime from the diamonds....so it will look even better soon! The face of the ring measures approximately 3 x 20 mm and the rise off the finger is a modest 3.2 mm. (this will be a good ring for everyday wear)

The hand engraving inside the band reads " E.C.L. to D.A.B. 7/26/30." There is also the mark for 10% iridium platinum which is a premium platinum alloy used often during this era. Iridium is a member of the precious platinum family and is added to platinum to make it stronger, harder and more white in color. It's used today by only a handful of high-end makers due to it's cost. It's really a great alloy and stands the test of time extremely well.

The band is still very sturdy and strong, but does have one area at the back on one side that shows a bit of wear...or perhaps it had a little work done at that spot at some time in the past. It's slightly thinner and bumpy on the outside there...it's right where the dates are engraved and it looks to me like there was care taken to preserve the hand engraving, which is nice. It's not very noticeable, but I want to mention it for accuracy. The total weight of the ring is a generous 4.45 grams.

Currently a hair over a size 6.75, this ring could be sized by a good jeweler who is experienced in working with platinum and older jewelry. (** Please read my policies section for information regarding sizing or feel free to convo me to discuss it or to obtain a quote from my trusted jeweler!)

With only light wear that could be buffed out by a jeweler, this would make a truly beautiful wedding band or even a special stacking ring.....this kind of style never goes out of fashion....

** (your ring will arrive in a new, antique style ring box, or you may want to peruse the small, growing selection of antique and vintage boxes I am now offering...) **

Please convo with questions and Thanks for looking!
