Here is a vintage Oregon driver's manual from 1938 titled "Are Young Drivers Good Drivers?" We all know the answer to that.....

It is paperback with a folded and stapled spine covered in light blue textured card stock weight paper (the true color is as it appears in the first photo) and measures 9" by 6" and is 64 pages (counting both sides). There are vintage black and white illustrations and small diagrams on almost every page.

It was published in 1938 for High School students by Earl Snell the Secretary of State and Rex Putnam, the Superintendent of Public Instruction. It is "a candid discussion of the accident problem on Oregon streets and highways."

It has all the info that current driver's manuals have that 15 year olds say they don't need to study until they flunk the first test, such as safe driving, speeds, parking, bicycles and pedestrians, driving in the fog, blowouts, what to do in the case of an accident, and of course, the show-off driver.

The pages of this book are in really good condition. The only imperfection is a very tiny tear at the top of the spine on the cover and slight yellowing of the pages due to age. I don't think this 15 year old studied this manual much.....
