Okay ... one is listening to the lush orchestral arrangements of Mantovani and so this cannot be 2012. Through the forties, through the fifties, and into the sixties, the sound of Mantovani's orchestra was a large part of the sound of those eras. There was a reason. Impeccable arrangements, honesty of presentation and ... let's face it, Mantovani created a comfort zone for a whole generation.

This record feature Mantovani and his orchestra delivering 12 fmous hit songs from movies of the time. Many of these movies, and thus, much of the theme music connected with them have become indelibly imprinted on society's collective ear. Who hasn't heard "Moon River" or "Never on Sunday" .... but some of these will surprise you - the music being familiar - but one may have forgotten that that particular tune was connected with that particular movie. There are nice surprises on this record. Sit back and enjoy!
