these tiny brass figures or murtis are very finely detailed and its hard to find this kind of quality. they are weighty for their size - each in the 1- 1.5 inch range usually.

perfect for those tiny spaces that need a big blessing like your car and your purse. they are charming next to a vase or bowl of fresh flowers. or to put a picked flower head alongside them in their place of display.

each of these murti a representation of a particular Energy which is a part of the One Whole and Complete God Energy, the Absolute I-AM or the One-without-a-second or the Brahman Consciousness or whatever you want to name it. the Vedas have so many names because each and every thing sentient and insentient and all energies and concepts are part of a vast and undefinable ALL That IS. so below at the end of this listing here is what we have to offer up for your contemplation ...

before i send it off to the post, the piece is given a blessing by fire ceremony and so cleansed from old karmas that may still cling to second-hand murtis and such. they will arrive wrapped in ceremonial tissue.

the sales from this shop are going to support my ongoing work in India - i am building a free interfaith library and temple this year at Narmada River as well as carrying on with my voluntary teaching in Ireland while the funds are coming and plans are setting up.

BUDDHA / BODDHISATTVA = Siddhārtha Gautama Buddha (Sanskrit: सिद्धार्थ गौतम बुद्ध; Pali: Siddhattha Gotama) may also be referred to as Gautama Buddha or as Śākyamuni (Sanskrit: शाक्यमुनि "Sage of the Śākyas"). the Buddha was a spiritual teacher from the Indian subcontinent, on whose teachings Buddhism was founded as an offshoot of Hinduism (both of which are based on Vedas and Vedic culture). The word Buddha is a title for the first awakened being in an era. In most Buddhist traditions, Siddhartha Gautama is regarded as the Supreme Buddha of our age, "Buddha" meaning "awakened one" or "the enlightened one." The Buddha found a Middle Way that ameliorated the extreme asceticism found in the Sramana religions.

The time of Gautama's birth and death are uncertain: most early 20th-century historians dated his lifetime as c. 563 BCE to 483 BCE, but more recent opinion dates his death to between 486 and 483 BCE or, according to some, between 411 and 400 BCE.

Gautama is the primary figure in Buddhism, and accounts of his life, discourses, and monastic rules are believed by Buddhists to have been summarized after his death and memorized by his followers. Various collections of teachings attributed to him were passed down by oral tradition, and first committed to writing about 400 years later. Those becoming enlightened in this tradition are so named Boddhisattvas.
