This Halloween primitive cat is made from osanburg.......
Meow-o-ween was born out of my quest to try new things. I had been admiring the doll books on softie plush and also steampunk dolls for awhile now and I saw how they were piecing together scraps of whatever they had and making these wonderful artistic dolls that I soon added to my collection.
I decided that I would give it a go and try to make one of my own. That is how Meow-o-ween was born. I took my love for cats ( I have 4) and my love for Halloween and mixed them together and Meow-o-ween was born.
Meow-o-ween is made from a little bit of everything. He has an osanburg body painted black and a stained osanburg head. His ears, arms, legs, nose and tail are made from various Halloween fabrics I had on hand. I orignially had given him fingered paws but then son realized it was a feat to do with them being so small so I reverted back to a round mitten type paw. His feet have toes though lol.
Each leg is lightly stuffed as is one arm. The other arm I left un-stuffed. His ears are also different fabrics unstuffed.
His eyes are various old buttons I had in my collection and I left one of them loose as to hang like his eye is falling out. Around the eyes I added lashes on one side and on the other zig zags. I then sewed on whiskers on both sides of his face and hand-sewn on his nose. His mouth is a piece of barbed wire sewn down. I thought it created that “sinister effect” On his stomach, I used a striped Halloween fabric that I cut into a swirl and hand-sewn on and if you look closely I only sewed one side so that it lifts up to give you a 3D effect to it.
His head is actually on a down so it is elevated up out of his body so you can pose the head and turn it to your liking. I then added some vintage paper tinsel in orange in black to cover the stick in the back and I think it gives him a more finished look. made to order.....

PS. the actual work has not be returned from the magazine but when it does they will be up for sale in a separate listing.......
