This piece started out as a simple drawing of an eagle, experimenting with the use of Prismacolor art marking pens. I eventually added the flag and the inspiring words from the Declaration of Independence as a fitting backdrop and theme to compliment our national symbol. The eagle has come to embody the essence of our freedom in this country, which began for us with the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I added the prayer at the end knowing that we can only preserve our nation and our freedoms by remaining a godly nation.
