A nifty vintage find ... this is an awesome weird whimsical and kitschy horror comedy classic!! Not only is the album itself in pristine and amazing condition, but the album cover, though there is edgewear, is in great shape compared to the others I've seen floating around for sale on the internet. This vinyl LP album plays perfectly and is in A+ condition with no visible damage, nicks or scratches that will affect its playback. Its rock pop retro kitschy halloween horror music and its super cool!!

There's no kids' names or stickers or writing that doesn't belong on the cover (most older kid-friendly albums seem to have taken the full brunt of childhood boredom winding up scratched damaged and scribbled upon). There's only some worn/slightly torn edges and minor staining on the outside cover, the inner sleeve is still intact and shows advertisements for other albums that were being released at the time (its quite a throw-back!).

The record was released by Parrot under license to London Records with the catalog # XPAS 71063 - this was the 3rd re-release of this album but was one of the most complete versions released ... it doesn't just have the single song/title track, but has a complete A side and B side filled with catchy kitschy horror comedy classic songs. This album can carry a Halloween party all on its own!! Though not many holiday songs reach the top of the charts, this album, on several occassions over the years, topped the US and UK charts as a #1 album and song. It even inspired its own custom dance, which was a rendition of the Mashed Potato dance that was popular at the time, except they added a few Frankenstein-like moves and it became a hit. There's even a part on the record where Bobby "Boris" Pickett impersonates Bella Lugosi as Dracula when singing a lyric "Whatever happened to my Transylvania Twist?". Bobby Pickett of course didn't create this on his own - it was directed by Gary Paxton and had appearances by the Crypt-Kickers - Gary Paxton, Leon Russell, Johnny McCrae, Rickie Page and Terry Berg. Cult comedy/horror kitschy classic-ness, at its best!!
