This small cotton tote bag is the perfect size for a pair of socks, baby clothes, gloves, or other smaller, portable knitting and crochet projects. The base measures 4.5" on a side, and the bag is 8" tall - it seems small, but the square base makes it more than roomy enough for an almost-finished pair of socks, or even small colorwork projects. The soft construction allows the bag to go with the flow of a busy life, adapting to the size of the project it contains without tangling, but the paring of fabrics gives it enough structure to stand up on its own without flopping.

I like to hang the handles over the arm of my rocking chair while watching movies - keeps my project convenient, out of the way of curious pets (or kids) and clean instead of rolling off of my lap and all over the floor.

I've made them for years as gifts for knitting friends, and when several of them made it through over four years of daily service protecting knitting and crochet projects from diaper bags, car floors, city buses, and all the vagaries of knitting on-the-go without showing any major signs of wear or need of repair, we decided they were durable enough to offer for sale.

Faced in 100% cotton coal black twill and lined in 100% cotton printed with almost-floral, almost-steampunk whorls in shades of dove, steel, and gunmetal, this bag closes with a silky grey grosgrain ribbon-and-button drawstring cinch for easy opening and closing without the potential to snag your yarn on other closures like zippers or velcro. The dual handles allow easy access and use as a "yarn bucket" when the top is folded down, but are long enough to put comfortably over your wrist or forearm to permit easy knitting in crowded areas or while standing and walking.

Since they are made of 100% pre-washed cotton without any sort of fussy-to-care-for interfacing, they are easy to clean - just spot treat any stains with your favorite gentle treatment, and machine wash in cool or warm water, tumble dry low. Steam iron to remove wrinkles, being careful to avoid the button. They're pretty sturdy (or else they'd never survive me), so you should be fine!
