Baltic Amber is the most precious type there is. Featured in this necklace are different types of natural amber, the darker cognac color, paired with the lighter honey amber. The differences in color are due to the age of the amber, the older the natural resin, the darker the color. The pure Baltic Amber featured in this necklace is nugget style, it has been cut from larger pieces to form straight modern line edges, smoothed and polished. This is much higher quality than round pebble stoned amber seen elsewhere.

This necklace has an incredibly unique and modern design. I design my jewelry based on my travels, and this one has an eastern European feel to it.

-Natural Baltic Amber in 2 colors, nugget fancy cut, smooth touch to the skin
-All Sterling Silver components, sterling silver hammered ring, oxidized and polished
-Sterling silver delicate chain, 18" inches (If you'd like a shorter/longer necklace, please contact me before purchasing)
-Pendant length (from top of hammered ring to bottom) is 1.4" inches (35mm)

A little info on Baltic amber:
True pure amber is found in Poland, Estonia, Russia, Latvia. Fewer and fewer pure amber is available due to all the extractions in the communist times.

About 90% of the world's extractable amber is still located in the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia on the Baltic Sea. Pieces of amber torn from the seafloor are cast up by the waves, and collected by hand, dredging or diving. Elsewhere, amber is mined, both in open works and underground galleries. The nodules from the blue earth have to be freed from matrix and divested of their opaque crust, which can be done in revolving barrels containing sand and water. Erosion removes this crust from sea-worn amber.
