This christening gown was made for someone's special christening. I estimate that this piece is between 90 and 100 years old. It is beautiful and precious. The neck, bodice and sleeves are all finished with eyelet lace. The sleeves have pin tucks and the back closes with three tiny mother of pearl buttons. Near the bottom, there is a band of drawn thread type lace work.

I've tried to take photos of it's condition which I would say overall is good. It has a small tear in the eyelet on the front of the chest that could be easily mended so as not to be noticeable. There is a stain on the front that I have taken a photo of. There are one or two other flaws but none of them are obvious.

One of the sweetest things about this piece is that someone (probably his mother) has written the name 'Wallace' on the inside of the back closing. I wonder who Wallace was and what happened to him.

The size of this gown is pretty small, I would say newborn. It measures across the chest, just under the armpits, about 8 inches. It is very long, approx. 35 inches from neck to bottom hem.

This could be a lovely gift for the vintage lover, with or without a baby. I can imagine it being a beautiful display item.

A Note about Shipping: I have found that shipping items from my part of the world is quite expensive. If it does cost me less than the shipping fee I have quoted here, I will happily refund you the difference!
