Hello folks! Looking for green goodness bursting with nutrition? We're so happy to be offering dried nettle leaf in our shop! Harvesting nettles is one of our family's favorite spring rituals. We love nettles so much, we even planted a nettle patch on our homestead. We eat nettles like crazy throughout the spring and strive to dry enough to last us the whole year, until we can harvest again. We use the dried nettle leaf to make tea and we also use it in soups.
I consider nettles to be a superfood. They are abundant in vitamins and rich in iron, making them fortifying for the blood. They are beneficial for the whole family and people of all ages. Nettles are good to consume after you have lost blood- like during a moon cycle or after childbirth. It's also helpful when you need extra nutrition, like during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
I included some pictures from some of our harvesting adventures.

In Rosemary Gladstar's book 'Herbal Recipes for Vibrant Health', she writes:
"This is the stinging nettle that farmers despise, hikers hate, and children learn to avoid. But herbalists around the world fall at the feet of this green goddess/green man herb. I am convinced that it is one of the superior tonic herbs and is as important as many of the famous Chinese "long life" herbs. It is a vitamin factory, rich in iron, calcium, potassium, silicon, magnesium, manganese, zinc, and chromium, as well as a host of other vitamins and minerals. One of my favorite all-around remedies, it makes a great hair and scalp tonic. It activates the metabolism by strengthening and toning the entire system. It is useful for growing pains in young children, when their bones and joints ache (just like older folks'!)
An excellent reproductive tonic for men and women, nettle is used for alleviating the symptoms of PMS and menopause. It's a superb herb for the genitourinary system and will strengthen weak kidneys, essential for vitality and energy. It is indicated for liver problems and is excellent for allergies and hay fever. All this and it tastes good, too!'

Our herbs come in paper based glassine lined bags with foldable stay-fresh tops. Made with recycled material and the glassine liner is paper based making it 100% recyclable and biodegradable!

Size: 1 oz. (We always add extra to every bag.)
