~~~ picture it ~~~
a company picnic in the mid 1960s...fresh updos and the newest lipcolor...the secretaries' circle alive with gossip of jello molds with inedible additions and possible liquor-fueled contrivances... hushed champagne whispers and hidden stocking runs...
~~~ brand history ~~~
The Original Du-Rite of Toronto dress company was one of the more prolific Canadian ready-to-wear fashion manufacturers of the 1950s and 1960s * It was a husband-and-wife affair who created custom garments for women in the back of a dress shop *

~~~ details ~~~
* Hand ruched and beaded * Fully lined in acetate * Metal back zipper * Based on the style, the details (the bra strap ties, the metal zipper, etc.) and the brand history I am dating this as 1960s * The colour was difficult to capture - it's a saturated golden yellow, almost mustardy. On my computer, the picture that is closest to the true-to-life colour is 1st first panel of the 2nd picture (the close up of the ruching)
~~~ measurements ~~~
stated size: na
fits like a: xsmall to small
shoulder to shoulder: 12.5"
bust: 34"
waist: 25"
hips: 35"
length: 40"

~~~ condition ~~~
excellent - all seams and beads seem to be intact, the only issue is that there is an 'eye' from the hook-and-eye clasp at the back neck that needs to be replaced.
