Cozy, comfortable, durable and earth-friendly rugs.
Brought to a new level by combining traditional and contemporary concepts and colors.
All designs are original, and each is one-of-a-kind.
Cloth yarn is made from clean, newly washed upcycled fabrics and textiles and created in a smoke-free home.
I use a slip knot method of attaching the strips as I go along so there are no weak spots where things are stitched together with thread. This makes an extra durable rug and eliminates surprise holes popping open or the need for future mending.

Crocheted rugs have two levels of impact; the obvious overall finished product, but also a closer place where the different patterns and textures of the fabrics changes, where they blend with others and create a second layer of information. A sort of individual personality. A story.

This large triple-disc rug has the look of a soft, cheerful geode.

A combination of pure white, apple green, lemon yellow, indigo and grey-greens, this rugs' elegant proportion makes it the perfect shape for bedside or next to the bath.
It is a modified design of an antique braided rug seen in the Wallace Nutting photo shown in this listing of a monochromatic version:
It has wonderful contrasting textures created by the green print chenille-type fabric that is fuzzy and slightly raised visually, but unnoticed and even when stepped on. A double border of lemon yellow with the outermost ring of a smooth knit both accentuates the colors and makes the whites pop.

It is ready-to-ship and measures 36" x 69".

Feel welcome to contact me to discuss custom sizes, shapes or colors. I’m easy to work with and will send a photo of the finished rug for approval before sending. I’ve included a photo of color variations with each listing to give a bit of an idea of the designs in different palettes; the possibilities are limitless…

Cleaning and care:
My own rugs go into the washing machine using the gentle cycle, and I dry them 90% in the dryer then lay them flat to finish.
A gentle tug here and there will correct any distortion from the wash. Especially with the rectangular shapes - the corners will pull into themselves if dried completely in the dryer.
In the era of the original crocheted rug, starch was added to the final rinse. I do this too. You can get a pre-dissolved bottle in the laundry isle then add it in once the last tub has filled. It really helps in keeping the rugs bright as the dirt adheres to the layer of starch first, protects it and keeps it cleaner by acting as a buffer to the fabric.
