This is another unique instrument from Barefoot Boogie Guitars. This 4 String Guitar was made from a very colorful La Aroma de Cuba Cigar box.

These types of instruments have roots from the Deep South (1800’s) where folks that did not have money to buy instruments, would use scrap materials to make their own. Many times, they would use a wooden box, broom handle, and 1-2 wire strings. This one has obviously taken it to a new level, and is very unique.

The neck is made of Red Oak. The Fret board is made of Purple heart, and has Perloid Fret markers. The nut is made of Corian, and the bridge is made of Purple heart and Brass. There is a piezo pickup installed under the bridge. This is a neck through design, with the strings connecting at the tail. The sound hole for this instrument is a Gold Screen sound hole cover typically found on resonator guitars. The tuners are vintage deluxe style tuners. They have the green keys similar to those found on old Gibson guitars.

This is a quality made instrument. I'd really encourage you to use the zoom on the pics to see the workmanship. There is a difference!

The bridge is floating, which means that it is not glued down, and can be moved to correct any intonation down the road. If you ever change out the strings, just keep in mind that the distance from the edge of the nut to the top of the bridge is exactly 25.5 inches.

There is a You Tube videos of this guitar in action, Check it out (post to your browser)!
