This Butterick pattern originated in 1936 and the suit design can be seen in old 1930s movies. I image Carole Lombard would have worn a suit like this. The pattern reissue is from 1999 but is now out of print again. If you need to prepare costumes for a theatre production you might like to have this pattern in your cupboard. But it can certainly be worn in today as well!

The loose-fitting, lined wrap jacket has shoulder pads, collar, princess seams and two-piece long sleeves with back slits. Both versions of the jacket have snap closure, while Version B also has button trim. The wide lapel collar, along with the topstitching, give the jacket its flare. The lined, A-line skirt is lower calf in length and has waistband and back zipper. Purchased hat, scarf, belt and blouse.

Size: ~~~~~~~~18~~~~~~~~~~~~20~~~~~~~~~~~22

Condition: The pattern is UNCUT, in factory folds and complete. the envelope is in great condition.

Frequently asked questions about VogueVixens

Sizes have changed over the decades, and may vary between pattern brands. Measure your bust/chest, waist, and hips with a measuring tape, compare these measurements to the charts given on our listings.
As well there is usually a photo of the back of the pattern envelope, that often includes a sizing chart.
Looking at VINTAGE patterns, mid 1960's or earlier?
We suggest when buying a vintage pattern, to choose the correct bust size, and make any necessary alterations to the pattern in the waist and hips. An experienced sewer may be capable of making adjustments in the bust as well.
Some patterns give a level of difficulty/sewing ability recommended to use the pattern...from Very Easy, Easy, Average to Advanced.

The buyer should use their own judgement before purchase to decide if their skills match the rating. Be sure to look at the photo of the backs of the envelopes for more information on the construction of the garment.
All our patterns instructions are in English, sometimes there are also instructions in an additional language.

Even though some envelopes have French or Spanish or German, that is NOT always an indicator that the instructions inside are multi-lingual.

In the text part of the listing, under Condition, is where we will note if the instructions are available or included in an additional language besides the standard English.
Please contact us before purchase if you are unsure if the pattern instructions are in your preferred language, and we will check for you.
NO. Since we are in Canada, we are not registered for VAT, and so this tax is NOT included in our prices. If any of our listings or shipping rates state "VAT included (where applicable)", this is because Etsy's programmers have recently added this to the current webshop platform. Unfortunately this is misleading and incorrect, but we are unable to remove it from our listings.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions on this issue. Vogue Vixens has been open since 2010, with over 500 orders going to buyers in the European Union, and we have received very positive reviews from our European customers.
