Written by Jessie Stuart and wonderfully illustrated by Thomas Benton in his classic style. Published E.P.Dutton and company 1943 and this appears to be book of the month club book as there is book of the month club insert included that was written by Dorothy Canfield.

Book is sage green cloth hard cover with brick red title and design on front and spine. Cover in very good condition with only very light fading.

Corners and spine are great. Book does have nice dustjacket that has expected but very minor fading and wear with very minor chipping on some edges and one 1/4 tear on upper right corner.

Binding and spine are great. Book approx 6" by 9".

Pages great no writing or book plates found in book. Pages do have expected light yellowing for age ( 75 years old) . Page includes many charming illustrations by well known Thomas Benton. Total 303 pages.

This book was winner of the Thomas Jefferson award 1943.

This is the story of the "Tussie Clan" and their trials and tribulations.

Have seen listed else where for more than $50.00.
