Raku ceramic hamsa khamsa hand bottle pendant, blue, hand corked

Mehndi/henna/middle eastern style designs, protective eye, raku hand. Blue with reduction-fired variations. Small realistic blue hand holds blue-painted cork. Both hands made in Peru.

About 2” high without cork and hand, 2 ½ with.

Small hand is glued to cork, chained to bottle. When removing the cork, try to grasp just under the hand with finger and thumb. The glue is pretty strong, but if you pull the hand up with the chain or even just yank rather than lifting carefully, it will probably let go eventually.

Each of these bottles is different because they’re handmade and raku fired, as is each small hand, but also hung on different types and lengths of chain, so check them all out before making a choice.

This one is called "On the Other Hand" because I couldn't resist adding the beautiful brass Victorian repro (cast in old molds) to this piece.

As I hope you can see, the hamsa and cork hand are held with short pieces of chain attached to the brass hand, whicch in turn is strung on 2 different chains (one rhinestone-studded) making up the actual necklace. Each of those chins is around 16", so the whole thing is a bit over 30", allowing the wearer plenty of room to open, close, and actually use whatever's in the bottle.

Last time I listed any of these they sold out locally before anyone had a chance to buy one here, so don't wait if you're interested.

This piece should be fine under normal wearing conditions. I would, however, keep it outside car shoulder belts, away from animals and small children, and out of bathtubs and swimming pools.
