So well tailored and figure flattering is this vintage windowpane plaid dress by Vera Maxwell, circa 1960's -- and once a part of the NOS (new old stock) collection of Constance Saint Clair's "Hathaway House" dress shop in New York City.

The nicely fitted secretary style dress is comprised of a solid weight linen or linen-silk blend fabric with nubby dupioni texture, in a windowpane plaid of sandy beige, cocoa brown, and black.

It has quarter-length sleeves, scooped neckline, metal zippered back, and self covered belt with leather underside.

The dress has two embroidered labels – one for “Vera Maxwell Original”, and the other for “Hathaway House”, “Laconia New Hamphire”. The belt’s underside is also stamped “Vera Maxwell Original”, along with "S" which likely indicates a size Small.

Very good condition – clean, vibrant, intact, and never worn.

Please note measurements as follows and be sure to allow for ease.

Bust – 34 inches
Waist – 25 inches
Hips – 34 inches
Length – 40&1/2 inches
