Antique wooden crate from the early 1900s. Made for Walker Baker Company's premium chocolate, manufactured in Dorchester, Mass. The crate has beautiful joinery in the corners. Each side is stamped with great typeography and graphics. One side bears the company's chocolate mascot, a 19th century woman bearing — what else — delicious chocolate. The company, established in 1780, is still making chocolate as Baker's chocolate today.

10" x 7" x 7"

Rarely are crates like this in such good condition. This one is sturdy, intact, and its type and design are still quite clear. There is a split in a bottom plank but it does not effect function, and there is an old mark of some kind across one end of the bottom. The wood is clean and dry and the crate has been thoroughly dusted and gone over. A great size for home or office — of pack it with chocolate for an unforgettable mother's day gift.
