A traditional Scottish Highland drinking vessel, used to share a drink with a friend at greeting or parting, and also used at weddings fro the bride and groom to share a "wee dram".
This is a large, handmade quaich, lathe turned then hand carved to finish. The wood is amazing to look at, but a right pain to craft with! The grain pattern is worth it though... (just about...)
The cup is 14cm (5 and a half inches) at it's widest point and 5.5cm (2 and a quarter inches) tall.
The inside is finished with food safe, alcohol proof coating (that is acid proof and heat proof too, just in case you wanted mulled wine from it...)
The outside is oiled then waxed. Normal good quality furniture polish will keep it nice for display purposes, but it really is designed to be used.

(note for the connoisseur - the bottle in the background is Ardbeg Lord of the Isles and is NOT included in the sale :) )
