This 100 yr. old picnic basket is remarkable, in that, although it has a few broken slats, it is in Excellent Condition for it's age. How many picnics was it on? And who carried it? I always wonder the stories these could tell.!

This gorgeous basket is made out of ½" and 1½" wooden slats. The handles are worn shiny hardwood where many hands have carried this basket to picnics. The antique hardware is in excellent condition and everything works perfectly, even the small latch closure, which is so sweet.

And again, there are some broken slats, shown in pics, but this doesn't take away from the beauty of this old basket. It is a dark, rich, probably oak wooden basket, with beautiful patina. Wonderful to display on book shelves or antique cabinets and on tops of armoires.

Basket measures: appx. 18" x 11" x 8"+ deep, not including handles. Handles appx. 8" x 12" Lid is hinged and can stay open when used.
