A beautiful bird feeder, covered with applied & imprinted real leaves - one of the most time-consuming I've ever created. I almost hate to sell it!

I started by rolling out two large circles of clay with my rolling pin. I molded them into bowl shapes, and impressed or applied leaves of various sizes, textures and forms onto both. After initial drying, I joined the two pieces to create the proper feeder shape. After drying, it was low fired in an electric kiln.

I then applied oxides to the entire piece. It was then returned to the kiln for a second, longer high firing to cone 9/10 (high range).

To complete it, I added a braided leather cord, and inserted a branch into the prepared holes to be used as a perch. There are no drainage holes, so it can hold birdseed without leakage.

Note: branch included with purchase.

Colors: Natural clay, brown, tan
Height: 9" (21 1/2" including cord)
Width: 9" (widest point)
Weight: 2 lb. 13 oz.
