This darling baby doll is one of my favorite dolls from the 1950's! The doll has the hard to find molded hair which allows it to become a girl or boy at 'Mommy's' whims, by the change of the outfit, (see the photos). The outfits are new handmade reproductions, authentic to the decade, sewn by myself.
In the first photo this doll is featured in a precious 1950's reproduction girl's sundress. The white with blue polka dot dress is trimmed in lace and ties in the back. The baby is wearing a flannel diaper and a diaper cover in the same fabric as the dress, also trimmed in lace. Of course, to keep her delicate face shaded from the sun she has her sunbonnet on which is lined and tied with a half- loop blue satin ribbon. She is wearing new white socks, trimmed in lace and new lace-up baby doll shoes.
In the second photo our doll is presented as a little boy. He is wearing a new reproduction sunsuit with little 'scotty' dogs on it. Also he is wearing a bib with the option of the scotty dog fabric on one side and a blue and white striped seersucker on the other, as shown. Both the sunsuit and bib are trimmed in red cotton bias. The footie slippers are new as well.
This doll is in very good condition. The biggest flaw on the doll is the light stain, (I believe ink), on the chin as shown in the third photo. The eyes are beautiful and bright, un-yellowed, and with full lashes. My dolls are not new but vintage so there will be a few imperfections here and there. I try to point out any of the bigger flaws. There is a manufacturer's trademark etched on the back of the neck, J.C. I have tried to find this trademark in doll books and online and can't find anything definite. One idea is that it could be made for JCPenny's Co., but I am not sure.

This doll comes with both outfits included. The other items such as the pail and boat are merely photo props and not included with this purchase.
