This camera gave me a good laugh when I was first looking at it. I thought, "Great, some idiot named Bob engraved his name on his camera. Boy, he did a really neat job of it, though." Turns out there were many Bob cameras -- who knew? This 1920s camera shot 9x14cm or "postcard" film. The Ernemann Doppel Anastigmat Vilar 105/f6.8 lens is clean and clear. Aperture moves smoothly. Shutter fires but the exposure time isn't right. Viewfinder is nice and clear and the bellows look good. The front is missing the pullout latch/prop foot. Nice old boy, that Bob!

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY:
I am helping to find new homes for a huge collection of vintage cameras. As a professional photographer myself, I am really enjoying getting to know some of these strange and wonderful pieces. The gentleman who assembled this collection chose pieces in good shape and gently cleaned them with compressed air and a soft cloth. Many might benefit from your detailed attention but I’ve left them as is rather than risk damaging them in any way. While in most cases I will not be running film through them, I will check to see that the shutter fires, parts move if they are supposed to, and things appear to be as they should be. If I find any problems, I’ll list them in the description and suggest that the item be used only for display or repurposing However, due to their vintage nature, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, THESE ITEMS ARE SOLD “AS IS” WITH NO GUARANTEE OF WORKING ORDER AND NO RETURNS ACCEPTED UNLESS ITEM RECEIVED IS NOT AS DESCRIBED. Please convo me with any specific questions and I’ll do my best to get you the info.

SHIPPING: OMG, why is it so much???? I don't hide shipping costs in the item price. I want you to know who's getting the money! Canada is higher on postage than the US and the rate jumps severely as weight increases. BUYING MORE THAN ONE ITEM AT A TIME OFTEN SAVES YOU MONEY because I’ve become pretty handy at packing lots of stuff safely into a box. I do my best to keep your shipping costs at a minimum and, as always, once I do the calculations for your finished package, I gladly refund any shipping overpayment greater than $2. I am also happy to work with International buyers who have a CONFIRMED PAYPAL ADDRESS– please convo me with your shipping address and I’ll give you a shipping cost.

Frequently asked questions about PastAndPresence

I go with things that I like! And I like a lot of different vintage subjects and styles. That's why you never know what will turn up next in the shop.
Once I complete the designs, I send them to a US textile manufacturer for printing and sewing. My files go directly from my attic studio in Warman, Saskatchewan, Canada into their presses -- pretty cool when you think about it. The printed fabric is sewn into the finished product and shipped out directly to you. I do several tests on new designs before I post them here -- if I wouldn't have it in my home, you won't see it in the store.
