One of those fun pieces that are a staple in any danish modern / mid century home. Cute and playful, this wooden pelican will stand and guard your ever-loved belongings, be it your books, kitchen tools or your favorite sunglasses next to the key and change bowl. Great desk accessory for your office space or studio, too! The mouth, I don't believe, opens like the Zooline pelican's do. A good solid hardwood and very well constructed. Feet are firmly attached however they may be reglued over the years (look to be). They are not moveable. It is marked Swank and is most likely from the late to early 50s/60s. It has some light wear, a few small nicks here and there but nothing to detract from his awesomeness. He has a crown of feathers to show his elegance. It measures 5" x 4"x 6". He and figurines similar to him are the inspiration of wooden animals made by Kay Bojesen.
