This is a one-of-a-kind art quilt on canvas of a Native American Fancy Shawl Dancer. The fancy shawl dance is a very athletic dance which emulates the butterfly in motion. The regalia is characterized by the bright colors, specifically the shawl which has long fringes.

This art quilt was constructed using batik fabrics. Then I sewed beads to the ends of the fringes and onto the dress. When the quilt was finished I sewed along the edges of the quilt with wool yarn. Wool yarn was also used for her hair. Then I hand sewed the quilt onto a canvas I painted using Shiva Paintstiks.

Canvas size is 9" X 12" with a 1 3/8" profile.
