This trunk was a wedding gift for a new bride in the 1930's in West Virginia and has seen many miles of travel along the East Coast, spending several years in Florida before returning to the Mid-Atlantic region.

Loaded with character and patina, this trunk is constructed of wood and covered in a heavy, black pressed paper. Inside of trunk is covered with a pretty blue paper. The handles appear to be leather over paper and latches and locks appear to be brass. Trunk is sturdy and would be great for storage or as a coffee table. Measures approx. 30.5" x 17" x 13".

Trunk is worn and shabby from many years of use, causing the paper to peel from the top and bottom surfaces. There are a few red spots on the top that appear to be paint drips. Trunk ends and sides are in good condition, as is the interior. Features decorative brass tacks and corners and is also reinforced by a metal band around the bottom of the lid. Brass and metal pieces have surface rust (see photos.) Round, locking latch in center sticks and is difficult to open and close. Each handle is wearing through on one end (see photos.)
