This nifty little paper cutter was made for trimming photos by the Burke & James Co. of Chicago.

The paper trimmer has a ruler on the top edge that is marked "Burke & James Manufacturers, Chicago." Burke & James made cameras and photography equipment. The cutter has a metal edge on the right side and the handle is cast iron and marked "Ingento". The steel blade is attached to the cutter with two screws. The front side of the wooden platform has a Burke & James logo trademark decal.
Measures 9 inches square and 2 inches high. In good condition with some scratches and wear to the wood platform. There is some rust on the metal edge and on the blade and some of the black enamel paint has flaked off the handle. If the handle is lifted up above the platform it will hit the metal edge and not cut the paper. If lifted up without going over the platform it is still sharp enough to cut easily through paper.
