“I wiped away the weeds and foam, I fetched my sea-born treasures home” Emerson

This looks like the bottom of a bottle that might have said "San Jose." Only the "n" and "Jose" remain. We found one that says "Monterey California" This could have come from a similar California bottle series. Glowing seafoam green. Beautifully frosted with rounded edges. The inside of the piece is slightly frosted, with a shiny surface. Perfect for a collector piece or for San Jose, California locals. The size is approximately 1 3/4" long, 1 1/4" at its widest, and 1/4" to 5/8" thick. Personally found by me from a favorite beach along the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary.

My camera doesn't capture the true color of seafoam. Think old vintage coke bottle green.

♥History:

Monterey Peninsula beaches have an interesting and colorful history, from pirate pillages in the 1800’s (one beach was named “the Beach of Insurgents”) to the fishing, whaling, and canning industry in the 1900’s, to marine biological research in the mid-1900’s. It was Monterey where Spanish ships brought Franciscan Friar Junipero Serra to the area to establish one of the first Californian pueblos in June, 1770, and later, Monterey was the original location of the state capital. Nobel Prize winner, John Steinbeck, used the location and lives of those he knew in Monterey, to write Cannery Row, Tortilla Flat, and Sweet Thursday. He referred to Monterey Peninsula as “the circle of enchantment.”
