'Mediterranean Gold' sparkles with the essence of sun, water, warmth, intrigue and magic. It's doesn't get any better. If you want instant inspiration, gaze upon this excellent representative of the old sea arts and you'll be transported - like the genie came out of the bottle and granted you wish after wish.....(all with no downside).....ponder that:)

The normal surface wear on this excellent, hand blown, Japanese collectible is dwarfed - as in simply not noticed - due to the amazing 'movement' within the very high quality antique glass. Mediterranean Gold exhibits an endless dance of champagne bubbling. It's mesmerizing in real time and you won't want to put it down.

This amazing little piece of natural art is what's known as 'golf ball' size among collectors. It measures 2-3/16" diameter or 6-3/4" in circumference. It has been shown in photo #3 with a large 5" diameter teal float for color check and size comparison. (Sorry, the lovely teal blue float is not part of this sale.....but when I win the lottery, do check back!)

Mediterranean Gold shows olive gold swirls or deposits of color within the glass. In the last two photos the float is photo'd with a lighter, more neutral background in a stream of light that separates out the deposits of color somewhat. Against a darker background or in a low light environment, the float appears a mass of olive gold, as in the first two photos.

The seal 'button' is large and well formed of very thick glass. It has been perfectly placed. The 'eye' of the seal is actually stunning and shows up as 'gold' with a lime-olive green 'iris' encircling it. Unfortunately this isn't featured in the photos above, but you may trust it is gorgeous. The surround edge on the seal shows two small areas of grazing or shallow, light chipping. Negligible in my opinion and miraculous the seal, which protrudes (see photo #2) and is quite unprotected, survived many decades of toil and journey at sea.

The glass is beautifully thick with the float having a lovely rounded shape (shows off nicely in photo #2). It feels silky in the hand with its superior rich luster. What a find. My attic will never be the same! I am happy to keep this one if you don't take it. Mediterranean Gold deserves the very best home where it will be endlessly appreciated and passed on to posterity! Thanks for reading.

Thank you for helping to care for vintage fishing floats which are rapidly being replaced with plastic or synthetic floats.

SHIPPING: Happy to offer Priority shipping for this float. It will be double boxed with extra insulation for maximal protection of its antiquity while in transit. The cost is $10.00. This includes your tracking number and insurance. It will be packed with absolute care. *** Please allow 1 to 3 days to ship and 2 to 3 days for the carrier. You should receive it in a week or less. If you need it quicker, tell me and I’ll ship it fast! ***

COMBINED SHIPPING: Yes - I will combine! Floats of generally similar size & weight can be combined so you save on shipping. These decisions are made at the actual time of packing, using my best judgment to keep items safe from damage in transit, protecting them maximally. Best option is to pay the shipping on each item up front. A shipping refund will be issued promptly via Paypal when your parcels are complete. My customers will confirm I am happy to do this. If this doesn’t work for you, convo for a ‘guesstimate’ on combined shipping of items.

CANADA: USPS has omitted insurance from the economy (1st Class International) shipping category. Priority International is the next best available method yet not cost effective in my opinion, unless purchasing two or three items & combining shipping. Please convo for a quote if interested. My sincere apologies!

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME AND INTEREST. HOPE YOU RE-VISIT lightinawormhole.
