This Entrelac Bag is a flared A-line shape, and is a great way to try this really interesting patchwork knitting technique. It is worked in one piece with one side seam and a base seam. I made this version in two shades of Noro Kureyon, a colour change yarn; it can also be made in two solid colours for a basketweave effect or in one luxurious handpainted yarn.

Materials:
200g (approx 400m) of any aran-weight yarn; this yarn usually has a stocking stitch tension of 18 sts to 10cm (4in) using 4.5mm needles. Use variegated, multi-coloured, or handpainted yarns.
A pair of 4.5mm needles.
A pair of ready-made handles.
Fabric for lining.

Finished Size:
27.5cm (10 1/2in) wide and 25cm (10in) high (excluding handles)

Stitches used:
Cast on, knit, purl, picking up stitches, cast off, entrelac technique.

Pattern:
Stitch diagrams, full and clear step-by-step instructions for entrelac with diagrams, instructions for adding a lining and ready-made handles.
