Oh! I love how these horses turned out! I feel like I got the essence of the far western horse.

These bowls start life as disks of clay that are pressed into a concave plaster mold and shaped with my fingers. Once dried, I use these little 2 inch bowls to hold my tiny animals for firing bisque so they can be loaded quickly - so they're very practical things in my studio. At the end of the process, I hand paint them and fire them again.

Because my kiln is so small, I do not glaze the edges of these bowls, that's so they can be packed with their edges touching - because this is porcelain, their raw edges won't absorb food or sauces, so it's perfectly safe. Besides sauce, these would be great for jewelry, beads or a bit of salt or spice. They are signed and dated on the back with my bird on a branch symbol.

Because they are tiny works of art, I do not recommend microwave or dishwasher.
