Marianne Dashwood, who is everything but sensible, is gracing this box.

I painted a pretty solid wood Russian made box, decoupaged it with some quotes and added my watercolor of Marianne, where she is pictured returning from her walk to see Combe Magna during their stay at Cleveland with the Palmers, after which she falls ill. You can imagine her whispering sadly "Oh, Willoughby!" as she walks, with her shawl blowing in the wind. I finished the box off with a small length of sheer ruched brown ribbon.

Quotes on the box are as follows:

The more I know of the world, the more I am convinced that I shall never see a man whom I can really love. I require so much!

She was sensible and clever; but eager in everything: her sorrows, her joys, could have no moderation. She was generous, amiable, interesting: she was everything but prudent.

The box measures around 6"x31/2"x3/4". It is not very deep but it can hold quite a few small keepsakes.

All my pieces come wrapped in my signature brown paper package, tied with string and sealed with unique Antique Fashionista wax seal.

Please visit my blog at antiquefashionista.blogspot.com if you are interested to see some of my other pieces and how I paint my watercolors.
