SALE- WAS $275! Authentic retro mid century 1960s era GUCCI 100% silk floral scarf designed by Vittorio Accornero. Bright red poppies, white daisies, yellow buttercups, blue flowers, stalks of wheat and oh so many other facets of this beautiful bouquet on white background, surrounded by pale green and blue ribbon pinned with Gucci signature card, dark blue border, hand rolled and hand stitched hem, 34"x35". Research at Vintage Fashion Guild.com shows that Vittorio Accornero of the House of Gucci first designed these floral scarves in 1966 for Princess Grace of Monaco and the first one was given to her as a gift. Gucci signature on later scarves are in Block style lettering, especially on borders and labels. This scarf has the original Script style Gucci signature, even on the attached label. The Gucci label reads 100% Seta (!00% silk) made in Italy, Dry Clean Only. A second label reads, in French, 100% Soie, Fabrique en Itallie, Nottoyer A Sec. The scarf has been unused, stored in a drawer for 25 to 30 years, no discoloration, no pulls, no stains. The only flaws are three tiny pinholes, obviously made by a brooch, in one side of the dark blue border, see Photo 5. This is truly a beautiful piece of fashion history that remains up to date and timeless! What a Mother's Day gift this would make!! Will certainly be shipped insured.
