Tribal breastplate necklace in brass with copper rivets. This is a huge, handmade, runway scale piece. Circa mid 1970s. Freeform handcut from sheetbrass, with hand hammered brass rivets. The long "teeth" of the bib are articulated, and can move from side to side, overlapping or opening gaps between them. All edges and surfaces on the bib/breastplate have been filed smooth to the touch, each panel has a fine and velvety vertically brushed surface.

Decades of marks and patina give the piece an ancient air - spots that are lighter or darker, a smoky vignette forms a beautiful contrast to the brighter flashes of raw golden brass. Surprisingly lightweight, and extremely fun to wear. Breastplate hangs from a brass omega choker, with a handmade copper hook and closure. An amazing one of a kind piece.

Measuring from the interior of omega choker : 16 inches long. Depth in front : TEN AND A QUARTER inches. Breastplate is about 6.5 inches wide.

Measuring from the interior of omega choker : 40 cm long. Depth in front : TWENTY SIX cm. Breastplate is about 16.5 cm wide.
