Named for Lake Parime, a mythical lake in South America where it is believed that the legendary city of El Dorado was located. This yarn is almost as amazing as El Dorado...I handpainted beautiful lakeside tones of deep azure blue, sand, charcoal, black pearl, silver stone, moss, and of course, gold...onto a Rambouillet roving. I partially felted the roving, stripped it apart (quite a workout!) and spun it into a super bulky highly texured yarn. It has a lovely luster and I can't wait to see project photos!

I have 5 or 6 skeins of this-each is approximately 50 yards and weighs about 4 oz, about 4wpi.

Each skein of yarn is a labor of love. Recycled or local roving is hand painted with low acid dyes, steamed, and cooled for 24 hours to ensure colorfast yarn and less environmental impact as no dye is being washed down the drain. The roving is drafted and spun on my dreamy Schacht Matchless wheel, wound onto the niddy noddy and fashioned into a skein. Next, I soak the skein of yarn in a spring water and organic grapefruit/eucalyptus essential oil rinse. At this point the wet skein is blocked (dried with weights or on a yarn blocker to remove overtwist) and finally stored, awaiting a new home.
