Groups of temari are often displayed in bowls or vases — but how to display one single temari? Here's the perfect solution: a lovely, subtle, natural wooden ring that will elevate and highlight your temari.

Temari are handmade thread-wrapped and embroidered spheres that were first created as toys for children; they originated in China and were later brought to Japan — possibly by Buddhist monks. Over time temari have evolved into a highly-prized, exquisite form of folk art.

Temari are symbols of deep friendship and loyalty, cherished as gifts for auspicious occasions — birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, the new year and other new beginnings; they're meaningful gifts for for any occasion, or "just because." Imbued with the spirit of the careful hand of the maker, they are wonderful as a source of inspiration or an object for meditation & contemplation.

These rings are machine-milled from maple, and hand-finished with with organic beeswax and jojoba oil.
Outer diameter: 1.75 inches / 4.5 cm
Inner diameter: 1 inch / 2.5 cm
Height: 3/8 inch / 1 cm
Coloring and wood grain pattern will vary with each ring.
Perfect size for all Kumo Temari — see photos for examples.

IMPORTANT:
Many thanks to The Purple Tangerine ( ThePurpleTangerine.etsy.com ) from whom I buy these rings; they are very generous in allowing me to resell them in my shop to my customers. Again, this listing is ONLY for customers buying one or more temari from my shop. If you purchase this listing without purchase of a temari, the sale will be cancelled and your money refunded.

If you'd like these for other uses, or in bulk, you can buy them directly from the source: www.etsy.com/shop/ThePurpleTangerine
