I'm *such* a fan of 1940s and early 1950s jackets. Why? Because you always look so pulled together in them, the fabrics and construction are fabulous and meant to last for.ever, they're flattering (fitted so nicely), and the details, always the great details you just don't see anymore.

This one is in finely woven navy blue wool, and those triple triangular fanned details on the pockets, yeek! Love.

Also noteworthy are the 'ice cube' buttons down the front (and one on each pocket), rayon crepe lining, princess seams on the front, and the sleeves were built from *one* piece of fabric, with long darts to taper the sleeves towards the wrists, as well as elbow darts for ease of movement. That's some tricky tailoring, and something you don't even see in modern couture anymore.

Wear with indigo dark wash jeans and a crisp white shirt, over a cream silk cocktail sheath, with a mid-calf pencil skirt, or whatever your creativity leads you to pair it up with. This jacket will last you forever, and always look smart.
