No Y-Seam LeMoyne Star Quilt Block

The 8 point star quilt block, sometimes referred to as a LeMoyne Star, is a traditional quilt block. It can be intimidating for some quilters due to the y-seam. This full-color illustrated quilt block pattern takes that tricky y-seam away, making the 8-point quilt block quick and easy.

This is a no-waste method of making the LeMoyne Star quilt block. Each block produces (1) 17 1/2" LeMoyne Star quilt block, (1) 15 3/4" block with a pinwheel in the middle, and (8) 3" half-square triangles.

The pattern i wanted was with the eight single tips and the pattern sent to me had two tips at the top of each point. This pattern did not explain it well enough. The one I wanted was only a knock off of another pattern that was sent to me. the picture shows the eight tips but the pattern has two tips on each of the eight and I was not able to understand how to do it. I do not usually leave negative feed back but this was awful and I did not get that I thought i paid for. Sad

I was a little disappointed. First, when I printed out the instructions in black and white, the patterns weren't clear. The fabric they used didn't have enough contrast. They should have tested this before they published it. Second, there no instructions for different size pieces. Their pattern only makes a 17" block, which is too big for most projects. They should have included dimensions for other smaller blocks.
